I'm Not Done, Done!
10/14/20252 min read

For a long while, nothing clickedโcaught in a loop of doing a little bit of everything but not feeling deeply connected to any of it. I knew I needed to shake things up to narrow the path on finding what I truly enjoy and want to focus on.
Hereโs a few things I did to snap out of it:
1. Reflect and Prioritize
The first thing I did was pause and take inventory. I wrote down every single interest I hadโfrom the hobbies I casually dipped into, to the passions I secretly wished I had more time for. Seeing them all on paper was both overwhelming and freeing. Then I asked myself: Which of these light me up the most? I circled just a few, and narrowed it further to the top two that felt most aligned with who I want to become. That clarity alone felt like a weight lifted.
2. Focus on One or Two
Instead of scattering my energy everywhere (which had been my default mode), I made the choice to go deep on just one or two areas. I realized that chasing five things halfway was leaving me drained, but pursuing one or two wholeheartedly gave me momentum.
3. Set Specific Goals
With my interests chosen, I set clear goals. Some were smallโlike practicing my craft for 30 minutes daily. Others were project-based, like researching a topic and developing a content series around it. Breaking it into achievable steps made the process less intimidating and more motivating.
4. Schedule Regular Time
I literally blocked time on my calendarโan hour a day, non-negotiableโto focus on my chosen interest. This wasnโt โwhen I had timeโ anymore. It became part of my routine, like brushing my teeth. That intentional scheduling made all the difference, because consistency built momentum.
5. Eliminate Distractions
I had to get ruthless here. I turned off notifications, put my phone on the other side of the room, I had gone so far as unsubscribing to my beloved variety of streaming services. One exception: NFL Football.
6. Experiment and Adjust
Once I got going, I experimented. I tried new formats, joined online groups, and challenged myself in small ways to explore the edges of my interest. Some things clicked, others didnโtโand that was the point. By adjusting along the way, I learned what actually brought me joy and what was just noise.
Result?
By reflecting, prioritizing, and then building structure around my interests, I shifted from drifting through days to actually looking forward to them. I didn't get my groove back overnight, but the intentional focus created a sense of progress and excitement for me.
The moment I stopped clinging to the outcome and simply did the work, my frustrations faded. Progress feels lighter when you trade pressure for presence and that joy often came from consistency, not chance. #focus #letsgo #dothework #explore #personalgrowth #entrepreneurship #diy #nostress #inspirationalquotes #smallbusinessbigdreams The New Yorker #mindfulness Instagram Instagram for Business
